As a self-published author, I have to say the ebook revolution has completely changed my focus and ability to sell books online to people all over the world. Goodbye print, hello new world.

Hi Bethany and Amy. This is such a nice surprise to find. I'm just getting a place ready to have some of these open discussion about author marketing too. I'm adding this link to my recurring social media posts to help get the word out.

Don't worry, you'll get the hang of editing!

One advantage of the ipad that merits mentions that it supports _all_ the other ereaders. Amazon, B&N, Stanza and so on. Even if it's not a primary reader (yes, I have a kindle and an iPad, and the kindle is still primary for reading) it's still handy for supplementary reading, or for picking up free deals, like Amazon or B&N sometimes offers.

That said, if I didn't have a kindle, the ipad would do pretty well by me, especially combined with everything else it does. For someone who wants to have an e-reader but is not such an enthusiast that they would buy a kindle or nook, the ipad probably is enough to scratch the itch.

On a practical level, the ipad rocks out for reading in bed at night without needing to leave the light on. Not important everywhere, but very important in my house!

Lastly, the Ipad rules the roost when it comes to children's books. Again, it's a specialized thing, but knowing I have an emergency copy of Curious George on hand when the toddler is getting fussy is a great relief. Big, colorful illustrations go a long way for the kid.

All that said, I'm still using the heck out of my kindle, but the iPad is definitely a nice supplement.

-Rob D.

Oh that is wonderful, that your letter got some results. That must drive an author absolutely bananas!

I agree with the waitor, I am not an eBook fan. I have actually stopped accepting eBooks for review.

I find that the artificial light given off by a computer/kindle/iPhone etc actually gives me a shocking headache, and I have heard from many people who have the same problem.

They are ok if you read a few pages a day, but I read a book in the one sitting (or 2 if a long book) and I find that staring at the screen for a prolonged period isn't good for my eyes.

Anyone else have that problem?

Nicole @ Books, Books Everywhere
http://bookywooks.blogspot.com/
